Desktop Management Platform
Body Force
Comprehensive gym management desktop application with membership tracking, payment processing, session scheduling and biometric access control.

Problem
Gym staff managed memberships, payments, schedules, and building access across spreadsheets and disconnected tools, creating duplicated work and avoidable errors.
Context
The replacement needed to remain fast at a busy front desk, tolerate intermittent connectivity, and integrate with biometric hardware.
Approach
I mapped the operational workflows with staff, designed a unified domain model, and delivered the system incrementally around membership, billing, scheduling, and access-control modules.
Architecture
An Electron and React desktop client communicates with a FastAPI service backed by PostgreSQL. Containerized services isolate deployment concerns and a hardware adapter keeps biometric integration replaceable.
Results
Body Force replaced the manual workflow with one operational view, automated reminders, clearer scheduling, and controlled member access.
Challenges
Hardware variability and offline-safe desktop behavior demanded explicit failure states, reconciliation, and careful permission boundaries.
Learnings
Operational software succeeds when exceptional cases are treated as primary workflows rather than late-stage edge cases.
Repository
The application is private because it contains client-specific integrations and operational details.
